Google, Inc., an American technology corporation, has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan to become a legally recognized entity (SECP).
Specifically, TechGeekstoGo has heard from reliable sources that the SECP has granted Google a certificate of registration under Section 435 of the Companies Act 2017.
Reports indicate that Google will shortly launch its Pakistani activities after registering with the SECP. On its upcoming trip to Pakistan, a Google delegation will meet with government officials there to discuss the company’s activities there.
According to reports, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) made numerous attempts to recruit foreign firms to establish operations in Pakistan but ultimately failed because of the country’s precarious political climate.
A breakthrough has occurred, however, with both Google and Tik Tok agreeing to open offices in Pakistan, while the ministry is in active discussions with Facebook.
Officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology are optimistic that Google will open an office there within the next few days. Google has, during the past few years, reportedly conducted a number of initiatives in Pakistan, as confirmed by officials from the MoITT.
In September Google released career certificates to give flexible learning paths to all Pakistanis. In June 2022, Google introduced a suicide hotline in Pakistan to fight suicide incidents and mental health challenges.
In the opinion of the MoITT official, Google’s incorporation in Pakistan is a promising development. Google is investing $3.5 million on the Google certification programme and the registration with SECP suggests that the company wants to invest more.
